A Service of Night Prayer for Holy Week
We warmly invite you to join us in person or online (Facebook Live) as we end the day in prayer. Compline is an ancient form of prayer and derives its name from a Latin word meaning ‘completion’ (completorium). It is above all a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day.
If you would like to have the text of the service we use in order to follow the service we recommend using the Church of England ‘Daily Prayer‘ App. This is available in the Apple App Store as well as Google Play. Click here for full details.
We generally go live a few minutes before we begin at 8.00pm to give us all time to join and to enter in to a time of quiet before we begin. The service is lead throughout and we pause for a time of silent prayer, as we reflect on the past day and the unfolding events of Holy Week as we journey through John’s Gospel.
We look forward to spending this time in prayer together.
