Welcome

Since it was built St John’s, which forms part of the Guildford Diocese of the Church of England, has been the focus for sharing the love of God and reaching out to the local community through Christian worship, fellowship and service.
Through the years we have learnt to adapt to the changes in society and culture, so how we do things may have changed but we remain committed to those same core values. These are expressed in and through our Sunday Worship, Small Groups, Service and Stewardship which we encourage all members to become involved in and contribute to.
Everyone who comes through the doors at St John’s is warmly welcomed and soon made to feel part of the church family. We pray that as you share with us you will experience the love of God in your life too.
Our Church is typically open during the day for private prayer so if you fancy some peace and quiet why not pop in some time soon. Access is via the South porch (white studded door).
With every blessing

Starfish Greathearts Foundation - 15 July
Sunday, 29 April 2012 19:58
Hold onto your old (good condition) children’s winter clothes!
On the 15th July Starfish will be returning to St John’s as one of our ‘Focus on Five’ charities. Whilst you are clearing out any children’s winter clothes (or summer) please can you think of Starfish and put any unwanted clothes in a bag for the 15th July.
One of our number travels regularly to South Africa and has kindly offered to take out children’s clothes and to distribute them directly to the Starfish orphanages.
If you lack space and would like me to keep a bag in my garage - let me know.

Windlesham Village Choir
Sunday, 29 April 2012 19:57
To help celebrate the Jubilee in Windlesham we are getting together a Village Choir to perform at the village fete on 9th June. We have had one practice so far, but it is not too late for you to join in! The next rehearsal is this Wednesday (2nd May) at 8pm in the church. No previous singing experience is required - just come along and have some fun singing some enjoyable music, and bring along any friends or neighbours. Everyone is welcome.

Christian Aid Week 2012
Sunday, 29 April 2012 19:54
Christian Aid Week will be 14th May to 20th May. Bags for collectors are at the back of the church for collection.
Please note that UK Aid Match will give pound for pound on our collected money up to five million, as Christian Aid works for poverty. To qualify for this, money has to be in by the first week in July.
Windlesham Caring Annual Ploughman's Lunch
Sunday, 29 April 2012 19:51
The Ploughman’s Lunch will be on Friday 18th May at 1pm in St John’s Hall. All our volunteers are invited to this, and anyone who is interested in finding out more about Windlesham Caring is most welcome.
Electoral Roll
Sunday, 29 April 2012 19:49
This is a reminder that the Electoral Roll has now been re-opened and you can apply to go on it whenever you wish throughout the year. Please remember the benefits of being on the roll include being eligible for election to PCC, eligibility to vote at the APCM and being prayed for, as was done at the recent Iona style services in Holy Week.
Please note that the total number of people on the roll does not affect our Parish Share.
Please check with the Parish Office to see if you are already on, or whether you need to apply.
It is my expectation that if you are a regular worshipper at St John's (at least twice a month) then your name should be on the Electoral Roll.
