Dangerous Club for Boys has got an archery session booked and confirmed with the Bisley Bowmen on 12th Sept – spaces are limited and the cost will be £10 each.   Their minimum age is a “large/stronger” 6 year old.  Please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to book, confirming ages and how many spaces you need.  This event is now fully booked - confirmation and details for the event will be sent out in the next couple of days.

DC4B - Dragon Boating

The Dangerous Club for Boys Dragon Boat outing in May was great fun and very wet.  Having been split between two dragon boats, we took to the water and the heavens opens.  There was a healthy rivalry between the two boats and we sang and paddled our hearts out as we raced up and down the Thames.  Thanks to the instructors at Longridge who looked after us for the afternoon.

 

2010 CRE new books

Jo and Stefan visited the Christian Resources Exhibition at Sandown Park in May and we've got some new resources:

 

  • The Great Big Prayer Book For Schools - 2000 child friendly prayers broken down by topic and suitable for use in church and schools.
  • All-Age Workship by Lucy Moore - with challenges, inspiration and lots of practical ideas.
  • Telling the Gospel by Bob Hartman - 70 stories about Jesus that bring story-telling back to life.  Each stories has example follow-up questions and there's a section with tips on telling stories.
  • The Lord's Prayer Cube - following the same style as the Baptism and Communion cubes, this puzzle cube leads you through the Lord's Prayer.
 

St George's Day Parade

Local Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts had a great turnout at the 2010 St George's Day parade, which again was hosted by St John's.  The service was lead by Revd Denis Robinson, Chaplain of Gordon's school.
