2010 DC4B Summer challenge

Saturday, 17 July 2010 10:16

Are you up for a challenge this summer?

How about making a home built Stirling Engine?  A Stirling engine is essentially a steam engine without the steam and they’re also called Hot Air engines. You can see videos and detailed building instructions on the Austin State University site.

Let Stefan know if you make one and we’ll arrange a date to compare all our masterpieces. Why not send in a photo or video? There’ll be a prize for the best engine based on reliability, speed and how cool you can make it look.

DC4B - Dragon Boating

Wednesday, 02 June 2010 19:48

The Dangerous Club for Boys Dragon Boat outing in May was great fun and very wet.  Having been split between two dragon boats, we took to the water and the heavens opens.  There was a healthy rivalry between the two boats and we sang and paddled our hearts out as we raced up and down the Thames.  Thanks to the instructors at Longridge who looked after us for the afternoon.

DC4B - Royal Logistic Corps

Sunday, 07 March 2010 20:38

Huge thanks go to Andy Robertshaw at the Royal Logistic Corps Museum for hosting a fantastic visit for DC4B.  As well as showing all 40 of us the museum, he gave us a great talk all about army rations through the ages and we got to cook our own food out in the grounds.
