Historical Records

Many people are interested in finding out about their family history or explore historical events that have taken place. Parish records are a rich source of historical information for those with an interest in finding out about the past.

Windlesham Parish archive includes Registers of births, death and marriages dating from the early 18th century to the present day. We even have entries from the remains of an earlier Register covering the years 1677-1783, though many pages are missing. The Register for burials ceased in 1954 when Windlesham Civil Parish Council took responsibility for the graveyard.

A great deal of history about the servicemen and women who died in the first and second World Wars can be found on the Roll of Honour website, which is maintained solely by volunteers. Windlesham villagers, Jim and Marianne Robbens have compiled the details of fallen servicemen and women for the Windlesham Parish.
