Local Schools

Children and their families are always welcome in our Church - our Children's Ministry lies at the heart of much of what we do. But we recognise that for some, going to church is not always easy. That's why it is so important to us to build strong links with local schools - particularly Windlesham Village Infant School, Valley End CofE Infant School and Coworth-Flexlands School in Chobham.

We work alongside these local schools and other organisations so that our village community can unite on memorable occasions such as the village summer fete, the boxing day pram race and pancake races in March.

Our Children's team and clergy, enjoy giving regular assemblies to the children and in turn learn much from them. Many of the children make school visits to the Church, and worship regularly at St John's.  Schools also play a central role at harvest time, giving food parcels to local eldery residents, and donate to the Samartian's Purse shoe box appeal at Christmas giving gifts to children less fortunate than themselves.

As a Community Governor at Windlesham Village Infant School Licensed Lay Minister, Carol Neilson is one of the team strengthening the links between the Church and the school.
