Sunday Services

We believe in God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We strive to make our faith real and relevant to those around us. As a church family we enjoy fresh, modern worship as well as more formal praise.

we generally meet at 9.00am for our Parish Communion service and then again at 10.45am for a service of Morning Worship. Our children’s (3-11’s), ‘Junior Church’, and young people (11-14’s), ’TAG’ group, run during this service. A crèche room is provided during both of these services. At certain point of the year we meet at different times when we gather together for either Seasonal Services or a Special Service. These are announced well in advance so please do regually check our events and news feeds for details.

Below you can find out information about our regular Sunday services. These services take place in the main church building and there will be a member of the welcome steward waiting there to greet you. There is step-free and disabled access into the church (via the south porch) and if you need any help the welcome stewards and staff will be on hand and happy to assist you.

The 9.00am Service

Parish Communion

We start our day of praise with a formal communion service at 9.00am. This service provides a time when we can be still before God, drawing strength from His presence with us. This is the more formal of our weekly Sunday services.  It lasts for 1hr-1hr 15mins and includes liturgy and Communion every week. There is no official children’s or young people’s work during this service and, although all are welcome to attend, this service tends to be quieter and less engaging for the younger ones. There is a ‘DIY Creche’ for those with small children which is a room, with toys, specifically set aside for parents and their children if they so wish to use it. This room also has a live link to the service playing so no one misses out.

Our Parish Communion is a traditional service which follows the Church of England Common Worship.  Musical worship is accompanied by the organ and the choir. You will be greeted by a member of the welcome team who will give you a service sheet explaining what’s happening and what the responses are. If you are visiting for the first time feel free to let one of the welcome team know so that they can introduce you to a member of the leadership team and show you where to go. After the service tea and coffee is served in the Link building (hall behind the church) if you would like to stay, have a drink and talk for a while.

If you have never visited us before take a look at the ‘Help, I’m new’ section for more helpful information.

The 10.45am Service

Morning Worship

As we gather at 10.45am our focus is to enjoy God’s presence among us as we come together as his body, the Church. In our Morning Worship services we enjoy a range of worship styles as we express our love for God. Our children’s (3-11’s), ‘Junior Church’, and young people, ’TAG’ group run. A crèche is also provided.

This service is more relaxed in its structure and format than the 9.00am. It is attended by all ages and babies, children and young people are very welcome – we don’t mind noise! Whilst babies, children and young people are welcome to stay for the whole service there are also groups running that they can go to. Usually we all start together in the main church and then part way through the service the children and young people are invited to go to their groups. On the third Sunday the children and young people start out in their groups and then join the rest of us iin church as we share communion together. For more information about the groups please see the children’s and young people’s pages.

You are very welcome to keep your child (of any age!) with you during the service, we know that sometimes children make noises, aren’t always that good at sitting still and sometimes need feeding! We really don’t mind – it’s not unusual to find a toddler working their way down the aisle to see what’s going on at the front or joining in loudly! Sometimes you will be given a service sheet on the way in, telling you what is happening in the service and giving you any responses, at other times we use the overhead projectors to give directions and responses and for the song words. The musical worship at this service is accompanied by a contemporary worship band. The service usually lasts for around 1hr – 1hr 15 mins.  If you are visiting for the first time feel free to let one of the welcome team know so that they can introduce you to a member of the leadership team and show you where to go. After the service tea and coffee is served in the Link building (hall behind the church) if you would like to stay, have a drink and talk for a while.

Worship Together

On the first Sunday of the month we hold our ‘Worship together’ service. This service follows a slightly different format, is generally more interactive and is designed to be visual, interesting, engaging and accessible for all ages. There are no children’s or young people’s groups running this week as we all stay all together for the entire service (although there is still a separate quiet room for babies or anyone else that needs it, complete with a live link to the service so that no one misses out).

We’d love to see you whether you are a regular member or not been for some time, whether you can come often or only occasionally.
