There are times and seasons in all of our lives when getting to church on a Sunday is difficult for many different reasons. Recognising this we hold two very different services that meet during the week through the month, SEBO and Toddler Praise. We invite to take a look and see all that is on offer during the week throughout the month.
Sebo (σέβω – se’-bō) is one of the three Greek words for “worship” used in the New Testament . It means “to reverence” or “to hold in awe.” and is often translated as an English adjective, such as “devout”, “God-fearing”, or “religious”.
Sebo is a said service, meaning that we do not sign hymns and are not lead musically. Many who come do so because of the quite intimate style of the service or that they find it increasingly difficult to get to church on a Sunday and this time mid week serves them well.
We meet every Thursday at 10.30am. During the summer months (April – September) you will find us in Church. When the weather is less favourable (October – March) we meet in the Olive Room, which is to be found in the Link building behind the church. Our pattern of worship, or sebo, is to celebrate Communion on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursday of the month. We follow the Common Worship liturgy for Communion with Traditional language. On the 2nd and 4th Thursdays we hold a BCP Morning Prayer service. We always end with a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits!
We would love to welcome you whenever you are able to join us.
Toddler Praise is a fun, lively and informal time for pre-school children and their parents/carers. We gather together for a time of singing, to share a simple Bible story and enjoy a craft activity. There is then time for the children to play, have a drink and snack whilst the rest of us chat over coffee/tea and refreshments.
We meet twice a month on a Monday afternoon during term time from 1.00pm until 2:15pm in the Olive Room, St John’s Link. We would love to see you whenever you are able to join us.
