Getting Married
Congratulations on your forthcoming marriage. It’s a very exciting time and we’d like to share it with you.
You're welcome to marry in any church whether or not you are baptised and whether or not you go to church regularly although you’ll need to check that you are able to be married in St John’s by understanding the recent changes in the law.
The wedding is just one day whilst the marriage should be for life. The marriage vows are important and to prepare for this we support our couples as they get ready. To learn more, see our marriage preparation page.
For such a special day, we offer a beautiful church at St John’s. Please visit our commonly asked question page for more details about getting married at St John's.
For more general information and to help you plan a personal, meaningful, spiritual and beautiful church wedding can be found on the Church of England’s web site www.yourchurchwedding.org.
We look forward to sharing in your day.
