About Us
The Parish of Windlesham was first mentioned in the time of Edward the Confessor (1042-1066) and a Church has stood on the present site for at least 800 years. Alterations and fire has seen much of it change and you can read more about the history of the Church building here.
Of course, the Church is much more than the building itself – it is the about the people who serve, worship and develop their faith both within the building and throughout day-to-day life – and our Church is thriving.
We look to grow our own faith through Home Groups, Quiet Days, Prayer Groups and Parish Weekends but also understand the central importance of the Church in a village such as Windlesham. We organise a range of activities and groups that supports the wider Parish. You can learn more about these in the Youth, Children and Families, Golden Years and Village Life sections of this site.
Our commitment to support communities goes beyond our own geographical boundary: each year we choose to focus on five charities, giving 15% of our income to them and, as a Fairtrade church, we actively promote the use of Fairtrade products.
We warmly welcome visitors to our services and groups. We recognise that whether you are new to the area, or simply haven’t been to a church for a while, you may prefer to know that someone will be there to meet you personally. If this is the case, or if you would simply like to know a little more about the services, please contact the Parish Office.
