Welcome

Since it was built St John’s, which forms part of the Guildford Diocese of the Church of England, has been the focus for sharing the love of God and reaching out to the local community through Christian worship, fellowship and service.
Through the years we have learnt to adapt to the changes in society and culture, so how we do things may have changed but we remain committed to those same core values. These are expressed in and through our Sunday Worship, Small Groups, Service and Stewardship which we encourage all members to become involved in and contribute to.
Everyone who comes through the doors at St John’s is warmly welcomed and soon made to feel part of the church family. We pray that as you share with us you will experience the love of God in your life too.
Our Church is typically open during the day for private prayer so if you fancy some peace and quiet why not pop in some time soon. Access is via the South porch (white studded door).
With every blessing

Can you help get the magazine out?
Friday, 17 February 2012 11:48
Did you know that each month we deliver the Windlesham Magazine most of the households in and around Windlesham – and send a further 39 by post to people who have a link with the village however far back and like to stay in touch?
And that potential new village residents are given a copy of the magazine by Edwards & Elliott?
For 15 years, Anne Follett supported by her team of 80+ distributors made sure the magazine got out to us all by the beginning of each month – and this happened month in, month out.
With Anne’s ‘retirement’ and decision to focus on her other roles and responsibilities in the village, a new group of people have split her job between them – and we’re learning as we go along. Fortunately for us we have the same group of committed distributors still delivering the magazines.
We would like some new volunteers to create a ‘pool’ of people we can draw on occasionally when sickness takes over or holidays take place.
Can you offer to be a back-up, or work on a rota? Perhaps helping to count and bundle up the magazines for a couple of hours a month at The Link. We also need a back up driver to take some of Magazines to the Group Distributors in the village (who then take them on to their own set of distributors) or deliver to households when we really need it? This journey only takes about 30 minutes around the village once a month.
If you can spare some time – however occasionally – please get in touch. Call me on 01276 477236 or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Fairtrade Fortnight Fun
Saturday, 11 February 2012 19:00

There are plenty of ways to get involved with this year's Fairtrade Fortnight - 27th February – 11th March.
Poster Competition
We are running a poster competition for children across our community to raise awareness of Fairtrade issues.
The posters will be displayed in the Church/Link in time for the Fairtrade Walk planned for the 9th March and everyone will be able to vote for their favourite poster and the winners announced during the 10.45 am service on the 11th March.
Kate Hillman is looking for a small team of volunteers to take home the ballot box on the 9th March and count the votes ready for Sunday 11th...as a mother of some entrants it would be inappropriate for her to count the votes!! If you could spare a bit of time that weekend please speak to Kate (07525629464) - many thanks.
Download further competition details.
Take A Step Fairtrade Walk
In partnership with Windlesham Village Infant School we are organising a mile long walk round the village on Friday 9th March between 3.30pm - 5pm to help raise awareness of this year's Fairtrade Fortnight. We hope that other local schools and as many local residents as possible will join us in taking a step for Fairtrade Fortnight.
It costs £1 to enter and all funds will go to the Fairtrade Foundation to support their vital work. The walk starts and finishes outside the church. After the walk you are invited to learn more about Fairtrade in church over some delicious Fairtrade refreshments.
The Real Easter Egg
Thursday, 26 January 2012 22:50

The Meaningful Chocolate Company are again producing an Easter egg this year, with the real Easter message. The Real Easter Egg is the UK’s first and only Fairtrade charity egg to mention Jesus and the events of the Christian period of Holy Week on the box. The eggs will cost £3.99 and, despite their popularity last year, the supermarkets have not placed large orders this year.
To avoid disappointment, if you would like to order one (or more!), please let Jackie or Lesley in the Parish Office know, or let me know as soon as possible.
